Casa Fabbrichina
Gambassi Terme, ItalyFirst Impressions
Casa Fabbrichina sits tucked away in the Tuscan countryside like something out of a postcard — you know, the kind that makes you wonder if places like this actually exist. When I first pulled up the winding road to Località Camporbiano, honestly, I wasn’t sure my GPS was leading me in the right direction. But then you see this beautifully restored farmhouse surrounded by rolling hills and olive groves, and it all clicks into place. The free parking right on-site is a genuine relief after navigating those narrow country roads.
Location & Setting
What strikes you immediately is how perfectly positioned this place is — close enough to Gambassi Terme that you can walk into town for dinner, but far enough out that you’re completely immersed in that quintessential Tuscan landscape. The location consistently earns rave reviews from guests, and I can see why couples especially fall for it (they rate it 9.5 out of 10, which honestly doesn’t surprise me at all). You’re about a 45-minute drive from Florence, but the real magic happens when you realize you don’t actually want to leave the property. The surrounding countryside is perfect for morning walks, and the sunsets from here — well, they’re the kind that make you forget to check your phone.
The Property Experience
The restoration work here is thoughtful without being precious about it. You get authentic Tuscan architecture with modern comforts that actually work — which, if you’ve stayed in some “authentic” Italian properties, you’ll appreciate more than you might expect. The rooms feel spacious and airy, with those thick stone walls that keep everything cool even on hot summer days. What I really loved was how quiet it gets at night; the only sounds are crickets and maybe the occasional owl, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to decompress from city life.
Practical Considerations
Here’s what you should know: having a car is pretty much essential, but that’s part of the charm — it forces you to slow down and plan your days differently. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward hidden gems (there’s a fantastic little osteria about ten minutes away that locals frequent). The property’s 9.8 rating reflects attention to details that matter — things like actually good Wi-Fi, proper shower pressure, and beds that don’t creak when you move. These might sound basic, but you’d be surprised how many countryside properties get the basics wrong.
Why Guests Love It
Casa Fabbrichina delivers on that fantasy of escaping to the Tuscan hills without making you rough it. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself lingering over morning coffee longer than usual, planning day trips you might not actually take because the terrace is just too pleasant to leave. The combination of authentic setting, thoughtful hospitality, and that sense of discovery — finding this gem tucked away in the countryside — creates exactly the kind of experience that makes people start planning their return visit before they’ve even checked out.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Todo perfecto
Really helpful owners that gave us tips of local activities and came to the rescue with some groceries
Perfect for kids with huge garden (slope) and toys
What could be improved: Rooms were a bit cold even with heating
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: For 5 persons 1 bathroom sometimes was not enough.
Eggs with hen names on them, Limoncello and a bottle of Chianti were waiting for us when we arrived and our daughters received presents when we left. They think La Fabbrichina is the best thing about Tuscany :)
we had a great holiday 😊
