You know what caught me off guard about Casa Fabbrichina? It’s actually tucked away in this tiny hamlet called Camporbiano that most people drive right past on their way to the thermal baths in Gambassi Terme proper. I mean, when you’re following your GPS down these winding cypress-lined roads, you start wondering if you took a wrong turn somewhere – but that’s exactly the point. This place feels like stumbling onto a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves.

The moment I pulled up (parking’s right there, no stress), I realized this isn’t your typical Tuscan hotel conversion. Casa Fabbrichina used to be an actual working farmhouse, and honestly, they’ve done something pretty special with it. The stone walls still have that weathered authenticity you can’t fake, but inside it’s been updated with this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard. The rooms – well, mine overlooked these rolling hills that seem to go on forever, and there’s something about waking up to that view with a proper Italian coffee that just hits different. You’ll hear roosters in the morning sometimes, which sounds annoying but is actually kind of charming when you’re on vacation.

What really sets this place apart though is how the family who runs it actually lives here – you’ll see them tending to the olive trees or chatting with guests over breakfast, and it never feels forced or performative. They know everyone’s name by the second day, and they’re the type who’ll sketch out a little map showing you the back road to San Gimignano that avoids the tourist buses. The breakfast spread is exactly what you’d hope for – local honey, fresh bread, maybe some pecorino from down the valley – but they also remember if you mentioned you can’t do gluten or whatever. During truffle season (late fall, if you’re planning), they sometimes have a guy come by with his dogs, and guests can tag along for the hunt. I mean, where else does that happen? The whole vibe is just… relaxed in a way that feels genuine, not manufactured. Sure, the Wi-Fi can be spotty in some corners – this is rural Tuscany, after all – but honestly, that might be doing you a favor. Sometimes you need to actually disconnect and remember what it feels like to just sit on a terrace with a glass of their house wine and watch the sunset paint everything golden.

  The house was clean and well equipped. The garden was very nice. Volterra, Firenze and other important towns were close. The hosts were very friendly and Tosca and other chickens lay tasty eggs. Grazie mille!

  Warm and welcome place and hosts. The place is perfect. Flat has everything you need. We just used half of the flat and it was big enough for the 2 of us + 2 dogs. We had a private garden and one big fenced garden for everyone where our dogs could run around. We had a warm welcome from the greatest hosts the first evening. Thank you

  The hosts were excellent! We had an amazing time, the apartments are spacious and cozy, with a great attention to detail. Everything you could ever think of needing was there, which makes you feel right at home. Couldn't recommend it enough!

  Everything is amazing at La Fabbrichina. Fabbrizio and Elda are great hosts, location is in the middle of the Firenze/Pisa/Siean triangle, so all cities worth seeing are relatively close. There is an abundance of toys and games for kids available. The place is clean and fully equipped. If you think of something you need or could use, it is probably already there.
  
  Eggs with hen names on them, Limoncello and a bottle of Chianti were waiting for us when we arrived and our daughters received presents when we left. They think La Fabbrichina is the best thing about Tuscany 🙂

  It's an amazing place, close to the highlights of Tuscany – Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano are all just a short drive away. The place itself is clean, well-equipped, with wonderful, kind hosts. There is plenty of parking for the car, a swimming pool, lots of games (board games, darts, even a mini-bowling). The hosts provided us with fresh eggs, a bottle of local wine, Limoncello, and some water upon arrival, and even invited us to join their family and friends for dinner the first night! It's such a perfect place, we will be definitely back when we visit Tuscany again!

  The property is located in a good location if you like peace and quiet, yet close enough to attractive locations such as San Gimignano and Voltere. The owners are friendly and approachable. Everything is full of interesting details. Excellent equipment of the apartment.

  Inmejorable experiencia en todos los sentidos. Las instalaciones son una maravilla y te sorprendes con cada rincón. Se nota que hay puesto mucho amor en este lugar.. El trato estupendo, nos sentimos como en casa, y nuestro hijo de 3 años tuvo sus mejores vacaciones. No me cansaré de recomendarlo!!
