I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Casa Di Campagna In Toscana – honestly, the location on Strada Dell’aeroporto had me worried it’d be all airplane noise and industrial vibes. But here’s the thing about Sovicille that most people don’t realize: even the roads leading to the airport are pure Tuscan countryside, rolling hills and cypress trees as far as you can see. This place actually uses that to its advantage, sitting on this gorgeous stretch where you get all the pastoral beauty without being stuck in the middle of nowhere (the airport proximity is secretly brilliant for logistics, by the way).

The moment you walk into the main building, it hits you – that authentic farmhouse smell of old wood and lavender that you just can’t fake. The owners have done something really smart here: they’ve kept all the original stone walls and terracotta floors but added modern touches that actually work. I mean, you’re not dealing with creaky beds or temperamental plumbing, which honestly can make or break a countryside stay. The rooms have this lived-in elegance that feels like you’re staying at a well-traveled friend’s family estate rather than a hotel. What really got me was the attention to sound – despite being near the airport, the thick walls and strategic positioning mean you barely notice any aircraft noise, and what you do hear just becomes part of the ambient countryside soundtrack.

The breakfast situation deserves its own paragraph because it’s basically a masterclass in how to do local ingredients right. They source everything from farms within a 20-kilometer radius, and you can actually taste the difference in the olive oil and fresh bread. The staff – and this is where the 9.4 rating makes complete sense – genuinely know the area like locals. They pointed me toward this tiny enoteca in Sovicille’s main square that I never would’ve found otherwise, and gave me the real scoop on which hiking trails are worth the effort (skip the crowded ones near Siena, apparently). The grounds themselves are perfect for that golden hour stroll with a glass of wine, and there’s something magical about watching the sunset over the Tuscan hills from their terrace while dinner prep smells drift from the kitchen. It’s the kind of place where you come for two nights and immediately start planning how to extend your stay.

  is perfect for driving Tuscany and visiting Siena. They also have a wonderful restaurant on site which makes life easy after a day of touring Tuscany. TDhe day start with a complete breakfast in the dining room. I give this my highest recommendation

Dinner was exceptional, the food and wine were great. Very convenient location close to a lot of the Tuscan hill towns. The grounds were well maintained and the pool area was beautiful. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The communal kitchen was well equipped.

  It was so nice to have breakfast offered each morning. Not only was it excellent but they provide many offerings. The restaurant on site was a bonus! The food was outstanding, and restaurant was packed every night! The staff overall could not have been nicer. Rosella was also really helpful in giving us great suggestions of places to visit.

  This was a gorgeous place to stay – it felt out in the countryside but only a short drive to Sienna. The breakfast was amazing – delicious fresh made cakes, cheeses, fruit and frittata. The staff are very nice, especially the lovely lady who made hot drinks for us each morning. Would definitely recommend for a quiet few days.
