You know what really gets me about Casa Ceragioli? It’s one of those places that totally flies under the radar, tucked away on Viale Giacomo Puccini in Torre del Lago – and honestly, that’s exactly why I love it. I mean, you’re literally staying in Puccini’s old stomping grounds here, where the composer used to hang out and write his operas. The hotel sits right between the lake and Viareggio’s beaches, which sounds touristy but actually feels surprisingly authentic once you’re there.

The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place. The staff – and I’m talking about people who’ve clearly been there for years – they know the neighborhood like the back of their hand. They’ll tell you which trattoria down the street makes the best cacciucco (it’s the one with no sign, naturally), or when exactly to hit the lakefront for that perfect evening light. The rooms themselves have this understated elegance that feels very Italian – not flashy, just really well thought out. The beds are properly comfortable, which you’d think would be a given at a 4-star place, but honestly, you never know. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night, even during the summer festival season when Torre del Lago gets pretty lively with all the Puccini opera performances.

Here’s the thing that sealed it for me though – the location is just ridiculously good if you know how to work it. You’re a five-minute walk from Lago di Massaciuccoli, where you can rent a boat or just sit by the water with a book, and maybe fifteen minutes by bike to Viareggio’s beaches (they’ll sort you out with bikes, by the way). But the real insider move? The hotel is perfectly positioned for those evening walks along the lake promenade, especially around sunset when the light hits the Apuan Alps in the background. It’s one of those views that makes you understand why Puccini never wanted to leave. The only tiny downside I’d mention is that if you’re planning to explore the Cinque Terre or Florence, you’ll need to factor in some travel time – but honestly, once you’re settled in at Casa Ceragioli, you might not want to venture too far anyway. The whole Torre del Lago area has this laid-back, slightly bohemian vibe that’s perfect for actually relaxing, not just checking boxes on a tourist itinerary.

  It was lovely thanks to the host – very nice stay. You can see that they care a lot – about quality of accommodation and quests. Free gratitude was appreciated. Good starting destinatuons for trips around – two parking lots 🙂

  I can’t say enough about how great the hosts were. They were so accommodating. They left lots of goodies for us so we didn’t have to go to the store. They brought us fresh eggs from their chickens and milk in the morning. They even called a restaurant for us to make a reservation at their favorite restaurant. It was amazing.

  Nagyon szép, tágas, maximálisan felszerelt szállás. Saját parkoló. Rendkívül kedves, figyelmes és segítőkész a szállásadó. Nyugodt környék, kicsit távolabb a tengerparttól. Van egy tó is a közelben. 15 perc sétára van a vasútállomás ahonnan el lehet jutni Viareggioba, Pisaba, Luccaba, Firenzebe.
