You know what? I walked past Boutique B&B Torre de’ Conti probably a dozen times before I actually noticed it – which honestly says something about how perfectly it fits into this corner of Florence. It’s tucked right on Via dei Conti, basically a stone’s throw from Santa Maria Novella station, but here’s the thing: once you’re inside, you’d never guess you’re that close to all the tourist chaos.

The building itself has this understated elegance that I really appreciated. I mean, Florence is full of places trying too hard to scream “historic Italian charm,” but Torre de’ Conti just… is. The rooms feel genuinely boutique-y without being precious about it, and the breakfast (which, let’s be honest, can make or break a B&B experience) actually made me want to get up early. They do this thing with local pastries that – well, you’ll figure it out when you’re there. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out, too. When I asked about avoiding the Duomo crowds, they sent me down these side streets I never would’ve found otherwise, and I ended up having one of those perfect Florence moments watching the light hit the buildings just right.

What really sold me on the place was how it handles that tricky balance between being accessible and being peaceful. You can walk to basically everything – the Mercato Centrale is maybe ten minutes if you’re moving slow, and you’re close enough to the Arno that evening strolls become this automatic thing. But the rooms face away from the station noise, so you actually sleep well. I stayed there during shoulder season in October, and even when the streets got busy during the day, coming back felt like stepping into this quiet pocket of the city. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not flashy or over-the-top, just really thoughtfully done. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually recommend rather than just another tourist trap, this is probably your spot.

  Everything about this B&B was just as we expected it to be, based on its reviews/photos. Federico and Francesca could not have selected a better location in Rome—but it wasn’t just about the location, they both provided top notch assistance at all times. Our room was very well decorated and included all that you would need for top notch accommodation. Our room faced a the corner of the building and gave us great view of traffic down below. Although the B&B is located in a busy area with heavy pedestrian and auto traffic, it is as real quiet in the room, no matter how loud it was outside. Will definitely recommend this B&B to anyone coming to Rome and needing a perfect location, within walking distance to most of the main tourist attractions. Kudos to Federico and Francesca for their meticulous attention to detail and also for the well prepared, daily breakfast provided.
  
  What could be improved: A little tight in the elevator, going up to the 4th floor but this was just an observation and nothing to do with B&B—totally out of their control. Guess what, we got used to it.

  This hotel was chosen as it has a lift (small but at least it’s there).
  The hosts were very friendly and appreciable with a good selection for breakfast, we also stored our luggage for the day..
  The balcony is not an outside view but is great, if like me you need fresh air.
  The location is a short walk from the station and the Cathederal right in the heart of town.
