You know what struck me first about Boccioleto Resort? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street in Montaione – Via Collegalli – where you’d never expect to find a proper resort. I mean, you’re driving through typical Tuscan countryside, past olive groves and those perfectly imperfect stone walls, and then suddenly there’s this elegant property that feels like someone’s wealthy Italian uncle decided to open his estate to guests.

The whole “Place of Charme” thing in the name sounds a bit pretentious on paper, but honestly? It fits. This isn’t your cookie-cutter four-star hotel – it’s got that authentic Tuscan villa vibe that so many places try to fake. The staff actually remembers your name after day one (rare these days), and the check-in process is refreshingly unhurried. They’ll pour you a glass of local wine while explaining the area, which I appreciated after the winding drive up from Florence. Speaking of which, parking is no problem here – they’ve got a proper lot, not some cramped city situation where you’re playing automotive Tetris.

What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the landscape. Montaione isn’t on every tourist’s radar like San Gimignano or Volterra, but that’s exactly why it works. You’re close enough to hit the famous hill towns for day trips, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tour bus crowds every morning. The resort itself has this wonderful quiet energy – I could hear birds in the morning instead of traffic, which was honestly such a relief. The rooms have that perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort (the beds are seriously good, and the bathrooms actually have decent water pressure). There’s a pool area that gets gorgeous afternoon light, and the restaurant… well, let’s just say their take on local cuisine is why you come to Tuscany in the first place.

The 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place around, but everything just works the way it should. The kind of spot where you find yourself extending your stay if you can swing it. If you’re looking for that authentic Tuscan experience without the tourist circus, this little corner of Montaione delivers exactly what you didn’t know you were missing.

  Amazing place, just like in the pictures. Very friendly and helpful staff . The rooms are clean, cozy and equipped with everything you need. The pool looked very good, during the summer is definitely a hit. The property is 30 min away from San Gimignano.

  Wonderful place to stay. I have stayed here a couple of times now and will also visit in the future. The premises and the rooms are well maintained and very clean. The staff, both at the reception and in the restaurant, make you really feel at home. The breakfast is really good. Also the restaurant serves a very good dinner. Again, wonderful place to stay.
