B&B Marbò Florence Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of places in Florence, and B&B Marbò honestly surprised me in the best way possible. Walking up to Via Alamanni 25, you’re literally a two-minute stroll from Santa Maria Novella station – and I mean actually two minutes, not that “convenient walking distance” nonsense most places claim. The building itself has that understated Florentine charm where you’re not quite sure what you’re getting into until you step inside.
What really got me was how the owners (you can tell it’s family-run the moment you walk in) have managed to create this perfect middle ground between authentic Italian hospitality and modern comfort. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Florence, after all – but they’re thoughtfully designed with these gorgeous original ceiling details that make you feel like you’re actually staying in a piece of the city’s history. The beds are properly comfortable too, which honestly isn’t always a given in Italian B&Bs. I slept like a baby, even with the occasional rumble of early morning trains heading to the station nearby. It’s not disruptive, more like a gentle reminder that you’re in a living, breathing city.
Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re there – yes, you’re close to the train station, but you’re also positioned perfectly to avoid the tourist chaos around the Duomo while still being able to walk everywhere that matters. Via Alamanni runs parallel to the Arno, so you can take these lovely morning walks along the river before the crowds descend. The neighborhood has actual Florentines living their daily lives, with that little alimentari on the corner where the owner remembers your face after day two. During my stay in late spring, I’d grab my morning coffee from the bar just down the street and watch the city wake up – something you miss when you’re stuck in the thick of the tourist zone. The 8.1 rating feels about right; it’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but it’s got that authentic Italian warmth that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special rather than just booked a room.

Good location, no more than 10 minutes walking from the Florence S.M.N. Tram T2 is 3 minutes away.
Simple decorated but looks fine, the bed is soft which my friends felt very satisfied. The host gave us a warm welcome and patiently showed everything for better stay.
The building has a small, old but intersted lift, very helpful for tourists with big luggage.
What could be improved: Just a tiny thing, the washbasin is a bit small~Good – Lynn from United States – 6 April 2025 (7/10)

The location at first looked a bit dodgy, but most of our daytours left from this area, and so close to the train station, it was great.
The gentleman on reception, staff, and the cleaners were all very helpful. TV had some English stations.
What could be improved: The hair dryer.Would definitely stay again – Williams from Australia – 23 September 2024 (7/10)
Location was easy access to the station and all the sites. Room was good size, comfortable and clean. Bathroom upgraded and clean. Staff were most helpful.
What could be improved: Damp smell when entering the main property. No breakfast is available, so tea & coffee facilities would have been a good alternative.Excellent! – Angela from Australia – 14 September 2024 (9/10)
Position very close to train station. Quiet area.
What could be improved: No elevator- but only on level one so that was still okVery good – Sai from Canada – 12 September 2024 (8/10)
The traditional lift does help one to get up to the top floors without having to negotiate the long narrow stairs with a luggage.
