I was honestly skeptical when I first pulled up to Baciano Azienda Agrituristico Venatoria – the name’s a mouthful, and I wasn’t sure what to expect from this working farm turned hotel tucked away in Località Stefanucci. But man, sometimes the best discoveries happen when you’re driving through Tuscany’s backroads about 20 minutes from Arezzo, following GPS coordinates that seem to lead nowhere. The gravel driveway winds through actual olive groves and vineyards, and you can smell that earthy, herb-heavy scent that just screams authentic Italian countryside. It’s the kind of place where you’ll hear roosters in the morning (fair warning if you’re not a morning person), but honestly, it adds to the charm rather than being annoying.

What really sets this place apart – and I mean this – is how it manages to feel both rustic and polished at the same time. The rooms are in converted farm buildings, so you get those thick stone walls and wooden beams that make everything feel solid and cool even in summer heat. The family that runs it actually lives on the property, which means when you need recommendations for dinner in Capolona (walk to Bar Centrale for the best aperitivo, trust me), you’re getting advice from people who’ve lived here their whole lives, not some corporate manual. The breakfast spread is ridiculous in the best way – fresh eggs from their chickens, homemade preserves, and this crusty bread that’s still warm. I actually watched the owner’s mother hanging laundry on the line while chatting with guests about where to find the best local pottery. There’s something about that 9.1 rating that makes total sense when you experience this level of personal attention.

The location is perfect if you want to explore the Casentino Valley without dealing with tourist crowds – you’re close enough to hit Arezzo for shopping or grab dinner, but far enough out that you feel like you’ve discovered some secret corner of Tuscany. Parking is never an issue (huge plus), and the WiFi actually works well if you need to check emails, though honestly, you probably won’t want to. The pool area gets gorgeous afternoon light, and there’s this covered terrace where locals sometimes stop by for wine tastings – it’s that kind of place where boundaries between guests and community blur in the best possible way. Fair warning though: if you’re looking for a gym or room service, this isn’t your spot. But if you want to wake up to actual farm sounds, eat tomatoes that were growing yesterday, and feel like you’re staying with Italian relatives you never knew you had, Baciano nails it completely.

  What makes this place truly special is the atmosphere it creates—one that seems to attract genuinely kind and lovely people. Even meeting the other guests felt like being part of a small, friendly neighborhood.

  The accommodation is a few minutes from the historic town of Arezzo, which offers many opportunities to eat well, drink wine and shoping. The town can be reached by car or by train, which stops not far from the accommodation.
  We had everything we needed in our accommodation and if we missed something, Barbara provided it right away. Their motto is to make the guests feel at home and so it was.

  My stay in Baciano Agrituristico Azienda Venatoria was amazing.
  After a weekend with my friends where i didn't get much sleep it was needed to retreat for a little bit and this place was what i needed.
  My appartement/tiny house was quite spacious and the kitchen had all the inventory that i needed.
  The pool was amazing aswell.
  The instructions an contact with the host top notch.
  
  What could be improved: The bed was a sleepingcouch. But to be honest i slept really well.
  
  You're able to get there with public transport but it's way more convenient to do it by car.

  What could be improved: Lovely and cozy agri-turismo farm with great facilities, we had one of the smaller apartments but had everything we needed for our stay, the host was very welcoming and helpful whenever we needed anything.

  The apartments are situated in a beautiful complex of old stone houses, surrounded by meadows. The apartment had two bedrooms, with the master bedroom being particularly spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped. The shared pool is large, with plenty of sunbeds available. While the surrounding area may be slightly less interesting compared to the heart of Tuscany, the nearby town of Arezzo and the picturesque wine roads are both beautiful and should not be missed.

  What could be improved: The nearby towns of Subbiano and Capolona may not be particularly special, but we did manage to find some decent places to eat there.

  The staff were so friendly and kind, they went out of their way to make the stay very comfortable, especially Barbara. The venue is set in a beautiful and quiet location, and the pool is great. My apartment was well furnished and had everything needed. The venue is a quick walk across from the train stop, just 8 mins, but there is nothing else around and the train is very infrequent so I recommend arriving with supplies to keep you going until you can get to the next town, where you can find more supermarkets etc (about 5min drive or 30min walk although there isn't a great pathway so you need to walk along the road).

  Check in and out was quick and easy (via whatsapp we get every infirmation). The lady owner is very kind and helpful, she speaks English. Fully equipped kitchen (even the basic foods in the fridge). Everything was what we need. The swimming pool was working even on the first of October, which was very good in the warm weather. There is also a table tennis (and rackets). Several people wrote that the bed was not comfortable. It's really a convertible sofa, but it has a thick, comfortable extra mattress on it.
  
  What could be improved: Everything was perfect, just good to know that the nearest bakery/restaurant is 2-3 km away.

  We spent one week in the Azienda, our apparemment was fully equipped, we found everything we needed. An air-conditioned was missing but not needed, the apparemment was so cool and fresh while it was too hot outside. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was cleaned and perfect. We loved staying there and would return without any second thought. Thank you
