It’s actually tucked away on Via San Zanobi in a way that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t figured out yet. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Duomo, but the street itself has this quiet, residential vibe that’s honestly refreshing after dealing with the crowds around the main attractions.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a typical hotel – and I say that in the best way possible. The “Ninfea” (water lily) theme isn’t overdone or cheesy; it’s more like subtle touches that someone with actual taste put together. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that you don’t get in those sterile chain places, and honestly, after walking around Florence all day, that’s exactly what you want. The beds are properly comfortable (not just Instagram-pretty), and there’s actually enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase. What really got me was the attention to practical details – decent water pressure in the shower, reliable WiFi, and windows that actually keep the street noise to a minimum, which matters more than you’d think on Via San Zanobi since it does get some traffic.

The location is one of those situations where you get the best of both worlds without really trying. You’re close enough to walk to Santa Maria Novella station with luggage (maybe ten minutes if you’re not in a rush), but you’re also right in the heart of the San Lorenzo area where locals actually hang out. There’s this little alimentari just around the corner where you can grab real prosciutto and decent wine without paying tourist prices, and the covered market – well, you’ll find it easily enough once you start wandering. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings when people are heading home from work, and it’s got that authentic Florence energy that you miss when you’re staying closer to the Ponte Vecchio area. Honestly, with an 8.8 rating, I was expecting it to be good, but there’s something about places like this that remind you why you travel in the first place – not just to see the sights, but to actually experience how a place feels when you’re not constantly surrounded by other tourists taking photos of their breakfast.

  The location was a ten minute walk from the train station, and all of Florence is pretty walkable so it was very convenient. Mauro was a very responsive host and helped us investigate parking when we had family drive to stay with us. The star of the property is the back yard which is just as lovely as the pictures. There are 3 full bathrooms which is nice. It was clean and the AC worked great. We all loved this apartment and would definitely return, which I would not necessarily say about other places in Italy!
