The name literally translates to “feel at home in the heart,” which honestly sounds a bit cheesy until you’re actually there sipping morning coffee and realize… yeah, that’s exactly what’s happening.

The location is pretty perfect if you ask me. Via Santa Cristina runs through one of those quieter residential areas where you’ll hear church bells in the morning instead of traffic, but you’re still only a ten-minute walk from the historic center. I mean, you can literally see the Duomo from some of the windows. What really struck me was how the owner knows all the little shortcuts – like which café opens earliest for proper espresso (not the tourist traps near Piazza Grande) and where to park for free if you’re driving in. The rooms themselves have this authentic Tuscan feel without going overboard with the rustic thing. Clean lines, quality linens, and – this matters more than you’d think – really good water pressure in the shower. Plus, the whole place is quiet. You know how some B&Bs have paper-thin walls where you hear every footstep? Not here.

What sets Alba Morus apart, though, is the breakfast situation. We’re talking homemade pastries, local honey, and the kind of coffee that makes you understand why Italians are so particular about it. The owner sources stuff from nearby farms, and you can taste the difference. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra night because – well, partly because Arezzo deserves more than a quick stopover, but also because I genuinely didn’t want to leave. The whole experience feels authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find. You’re not just sleeping somewhere; you’re getting a real slice of how people actually live in this part of Italy. For a 4-star place with a 9.2 rating, the prices are surprisingly reasonable too, especially considering you’re getting that personal touch you simply can’t find at chain hotels.
