Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Agriturismo Tenuta i 4 venti on Via Casabianca, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name alone is a mouthful, and finding it required some careful navigation through Collesalvetti’s winding rural roads. But honestly? That slightly off-the-beaten-path location is exactly what makes this place special.

This isn’t your typical hotel experience – it’s actually a working farm that happens to have some of the most charming accommodations I’ve encountered in Tuscany. The moment you step out of your car (and yes, there’s plenty of parking, which is a relief after driving those narrow country lanes), you’re hit with that authentic agricultural smell mixed with Mediterranean herbs. I mean, you can literally hear roosters in the morning, which sounds annoying but is actually kind of wonderful when you’re trying to disconnect from city life. The family running the place has this genuine warmth that you just can’t fake – they’ll chat with you about everything from the olive harvest to the best local restaurants, and their English is surprisingly good, though brushing up on basic Italian phrases definitely helps.

The rooms themselves strike that perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. Stone walls, wooden beams, the works – but with reliable WiFi and properly functioning bathrooms, thank goodness. What really got me was the attention to small details: fresh flowers from their garden, homemade soaps that actually smell incredible, and windows that frame views of rolling hills dotted with cypress trees. Breakfast is where they really shine though – everything’s made from ingredients they grow or source locally, and the ricotta is so fresh it’s basically still warm. You know what surprised me most? How quiet it gets at night. No traffic, no city noise, just the occasional distant church bell from the village. If you’re coming during harvest season (late September through October), you might even get to help with the olive picking – they invited me to join, and it was honestly one of those travel moments you remember forever.

The 4-star rating feels right – it’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but the level of care and authenticity more than makes up for any lack of fancy amenities. Plus, you’re about twenty minutes from Livorno if you want to hit the coast, and the location gives you easy access to explore the Tuscan countryside without dealing with the crowds in more famous spots like San Gimignano. Fair warning though: you’ll definitely want a car here, and GPS can be a bit spotty on the final approach, so don’t panic if you have to stop and ask for directions. The locals are used to slightly lost tourists looking for “i 4 venti” and they’ll point you in the right direction with a smile.

  Cute, welcoming, comfortable, safe. The staff were all friendly. Check in and check out we're simple. The room was clean, breakfast was self serve and fast, parking was easy and in abundance, the views are great, places to sit outside and conveniently located for exploring Tuscany, Pisa, and Cinque Terre.

  Excellent location, in the middle of a farm. Beautiful view from th window.
  Lot of place to walk around.
  You can spend a nice evening in the property itself. Really liked the surroundings.
  
  Modern and clean apartment.
  Two proper bedrooms and a big living+dining+kitchen, which has a sofa bed also.
  
  Please note that it is difficult to reach by public transport. This property is recommended only if you have a car.
  
  There is no washing machine in the apartment, but this shouldn't stop you from renting this property since there are laundromats nearby which costs only 5 euro for a wash.

  Melissa and the Owner were incredible. We had troubles with the car we rented and we arrived by cab, they helped us all the way, even in non working hours, Melissa help me greatly finding the transportation to the airport which I cannot stress how valuable that was! Everything was great, the breakfast, the coffee, the building, the beds were soooooo comfy and wide I slept and rested incredibly well. Thank you !

  I highly recommend it to anyone who travels by car and doesn't like crowded cities. Unforgettable impressions of magical views! The hotel is completely new with comfortable and large beds. We had a large room with a kitchen and a jacuzzi. The kitchen is equipped with everything you can imagine. everything is new and clean. Polite Melissa at the reception always helped us with our questions. This is the best we could choose while traveling around Tuscany.
  
  What could be improved: There is noise from the road when the windows are open. This situation is probably similar to most agritourism. High-quality windows and doors completely solved this issue. For which special thanks!
