Hotel Description

You know what hit me first about Agriturismo Pian dei Pini? The silence. I mean, real silence – not the kind you get in city hotels where there’s still traffic humming in the background. This place sits tucked away in the hills near Montiano, and when you’re out on the property at dusk, all you hear are cicadas and maybe a distant cowbell. It’s the kind of agriturismo that actually feels like stepping into rural Tuscany instead of some polished tourist version of it.

The drive up through Località Cupi is honestly part of the experience – winding through olive groves and cypress-lined roads that make you slow down whether you want to or not. The owners clearly know their stuff when it comes to hospitality, and you can tell they’ve put thought into the small things that matter. The rooms have that perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort (thank god for good wifi and proper showers, right?), and the breakfast spread features local honey and homemade jams that’ll spoil you for hotel buffets forever. What really gets me is how they’ve managed to keep the authentic farmhouse feel without sacrificing comfort – the stone walls and exposed beams aren’t just for show, they’re part of a building that’s been lovingly restored rather than manufactured.

The location is sort of genius, actually. You’re close enough to Grosseto that you can explore the Maremma region properly, but far enough from the crowds that you feel like you’ve discovered something special. The staff – well, they’re more like hosts really – seem to genuinely enjoy sharing recommendations for local trattorias and hiking trails that most tourists never find. I’d say the only downside is that once you settle in here, you might find yourself wanting to skip your planned day trips and just linger by the pool with a book and a glass of local wine. Honestly, there are worse problems to have.

  Everything was perfect! Nice pool, owners and atmosphere on this amazing place. Nice wines from their wineyards. I suggest to order dinner there. The foods were deliciuous and combination with their wines was perfect.

  A wonderful place with polite people and lots of animals. We didn't spend enough time there, but we liked it very much. The room is not large, but has everything you need (comfortable bed, large bathroom, air conditioning). The facility itself is very large. Pool, fields, loungers, benches, everything you want. Breakfasts are very good, both salty and sweet. It's really worth eating dinner! They are cooked every day from start to finish by the hosts' mother. One of the best Italian cuisine I have ever eaten. Dinner is served by the owner in a wonderful and professional way. It consists of three courses, a dessert and everything is served with appropriate wine. And all this by candlelight in a wonderful garden in the company of smiling people. The house is located in a quiet area but close to the expressway, so it is very easy to get everywhere you want to visit. We also definitely recommend purchasing olive oil and wines of their own production!
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, none of the staff speaks English. Only the owner, but she was almost absent. This is a very big problem because it was impossible to communicate in any way during breakfast, dinner and check-in. We managed somehow and it didn't affect the quality of our stay, but guests who don't speak Italian may feel a little left out.

  Owners and staff are the best part! So friendly and gentle. We booked two days to escape from Rome at Easter. Location is perfect for quiet and relaxing area. Breakfast was good and we had one meal (dinner) that was home cooked and exceptional. The wine from their winery is very good!

  Siamo stai 2 giorni coccolati dalle attenzioni di Moira e Giacomo, abbiamo pranzato con prodotti genuini del loro orto, salumi e formaggi a km 0.
  Durante il soggiorno abbiamo apprezzato la presenza di animali domestici e da cortile da sentirsi in una autentico agriturismo. Camillo il cane un impareggiabile padrone di casa che ci accompagnava nel pranzo e intorno all’azienda. Ottimo vino biologico di loro produzione.
  Una gestione familiare e genuina che fa sentire gli ospiti in un atmosfera casareccia. Ottimi i biscotti della nonna. Personale gentilissimo. Camere pulitissime. Giardino e piscina in oasi di pace.
