Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Agriturismo Parco Fiorito? The silence. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by rolling Tuscan hills near Cortona, and the only sounds are cicadas and maybe a distant church bell from town. It’s one of those places where you actually remember what quiet feels like – something I honestly didn’t realize I’d been missing until I got there.

The property sits in this little hamlet called Piazzano, which most people drive right past on their way to the more famous hill towns, but that’s exactly why it works. You’re close enough to walk into Cortona proper (though it’s a decent uphill climb, fair warning), but far enough out that you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something locals have been keeping to themselves. The rooms have that rustic-but-not-trying-too-hard vibe – exposed beams, terracotta floors, and windows that frame the valley like paintings. Actually, the morning light streaming through those windows is something else entirely. I found myself getting up earlier just to watch the mist lift off the olive groves.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve managed to keep it feeling like an actual working farm rather than some sanitized agritourism experience. The family that runs it – they’re genuinely involved, not just present for photo ops. You’ll see them tending to the property, and they know every hiking trail within a ten-mile radius. The breakfast features stuff from their own gardens, and I’m talking about tomatoes that actually taste like tomatoes, not the sad supermarket versions we’re all used to. The pool area is where you’ll probably spend your afternoons – it’s positioned so you can see all the way to Lake Trasimeno on clear days, and there’s this perfect spot under the pergola where the Wi-Fi actually works if you need to pretend you’re being productive. Parking is never an issue (thank god, because navigating those narrow Cortona streets with a rental car is its own adventure), and they’re pretty flexible about late check-ins, which saved me when my flight from Rome got delayed. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the evening lighting around the property is pretty minimal, so bring a phone flashlight if you’re planning late-night strolls. But honestly, that just adds to the authentic countryside feel – you’re not in a resort, you’re in rural Italy, and that’s exactly the point.

Reviews

  • Very relaxing stay with a great host – Marek from Poland – 10 October 2024 (9/10)

Very nice historical building and amazing surroundings

  • Very nice Tuscany experience – Steve from United States – 13 October 2022 (9/10)

Claudia and staff were great and accommodated to all of our needs. The countryside was beautiful and the buildings and lodging were quintessential Tuscany. The breakfast was delicious and a perfect match for the setting. We loved picking and eating grapes right off the vine.

What could be improved: Bikes to rent or use onsite would have been a perfect activity.

  • very enjoyable experience – Robert from Ireland – 31 August 2022 (8/10)

lovely rooms – very friendly and welcoming host – great food

  • A great stay in the Tuscan Countryside – Denise from Canada – 27 August 2022 (9/10)

Great location in the countryside just outside of Cortona. Easy to get to all of the Tuscany region. The staff and food were amazing. Rooms were comfortable and clean! Very accommodating!

  • Very good – Sarah from Australia – 29 September 2024 (8/10)

Such a beautiful property. Surrounded by vines and forest. We loved the quiet. Our apartment was comfortable and clean. Claudia made contact with us daily to check in and shared her lovely wine too

What could be improved: It’s a bit out of the way, it’s seclude. This is not a criticism, so you’re aware.

  • Exceptional – Ricardo from Brazil – 28 April 2025 (10/10)

We arrived on a cold night and were received in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine, how could it start better? Later I learned the wine I had was made with grapes from the property. Roberto is quite a character, a chef with a few books published on the excellence of Italian cuisine (after returning home I ended up buying one online at abebooks). For breakfast we had fresh orange juice with cake, bread and jams all made right there. After eating more than I probably should we engaged in a pleasant conversation with our host about Italian food, his career as a chef and his life, while tasting his own homemade Limoncello. In the end we had a tour through the grounds. Here time really goes slower and I could finally have the bucolic feeling I was looking for when planning this trip to Tuscany. Unfortunately, so little about this place I knew when I booked only one night; my trip was already almost over and there was no room for a longer stay. Hopefully, there will be a next time.

  • Stunning – Sorina from Romania – 27 October 2024 (10/10)

We had a wonderful time. Roberto, Claudia, and Teo are great hosts. The house (historical building) and huge garden are absolutely stunning, and the surrounding landscapes are typical of Tuscany. The pool is a bonus, in excellent condition. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and the kitchen and bathroom are equipped with everything you need. Cortona is just a 10-minute max drive away, and the location is easily accessible by car. It’s a perfect, very peaceful location. The nearest shop is a 5-minute drive, and larger supermarkets are 10 minutes away, in Camucia. We will return here whenever we have the chance because we had such a wonderful experience and the house is perfect for feeling and exploring Tuscany. Thank you for the wonderful stories and for making us feel so welcome.

  • a beautiful, peaceful place – Rosemary from United States – 24 September 2022 (10/10)

this is a beautiful agriturismo experience, very relaxing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. the breakfasts are great.

What could be improved: unfortunately we did not have a car and this is a farm in the country. If we had our own car it would have been perfect

  • Great location and views – Alicia_hart from France – 18 July 2022 (10/10)

Great location with a gorgeous view. Very nice to be in nature and to enjoy some calm and relaxation. The pool is a nice addition when it's so hot out, and the food was delicious.
    The whole staff is lovely.

  • Descent Stay. Friendly owner – Yasir from Malaysia – 4 July 2025 (5/10)

It’s nicely located in the heart of Tuscany . Beautiful scenery .

What could be improved: I wasn’t aware that there was a surcharge to use the air conditioning . I was surprise as as expected , air conditioning or at least a fan should be available
